Our Ranking

short review:

Nice output from Puerto Rican first-timer Eduardo Ortiz. Though the movie has some minor flaws (particularly the fighting sequences and the lighting - this seems to be problematic for most of the lower budgeted films), the overall concept and story were entertaining and well thought-out. Especially the idea of vampires bored-to-death (ah, hold on, the vampires are already dead, or undead) by the never-changing eternal nightlife pleased me. Being bored, they play games on each other to while away the tedious time. And they don't just turn into a vampire by exchanging some body-fluids/blood, but it takes them quite some time to achieve their full powers instead, and they writhe in agony. Jonathan (Jorge Dieppa) tries to stop and reverse the transformation process before it's too late and he is going to attack his friends. What he doesn't know is that he's just another pawn in the aforementioned games of The Older Ones. Cool and entertaining film. But don't expect to see much of Daddy Yankee - he's in it only for some short scenes!
