This made for TV movie has a "Kojak" feel, however it certainly
had a sting to it's tail. A well written and clever script sees a vampire
like killer stalking the '70s streets of Las Vegas frightening the tourists.
Our hero, hard bitten hack Kolchak, is convinced a vampire is to blame,
understandibly no one believes him. This movie has some great moments: the
Cops firing a hail of bullets at the Vampire who gets up and jumps over a
wall as if nothing had happened, the scene in the hospital as he raids a
blood bank and the lady with the huge dog. "Kill", she hisses as the vampire
stalks her in a dark and lonely car park, poor dog... For me, the cleverest
theme in the movie is you are never quite sure the vampire is real or not !
Great movie.
