Summary: In eighteenth century Romania, Rayne (Kristanna Loken), a dhampir -half-human, half-vampire - is the lead attraction in a carnival's freak-show. When she escapes, she meets a fortuneteller (Geraldine Chaplin) that tells her that her mother was raped by the king of the vampires, Kagan (Ben Kingsley). In her journey for revenge, she meets two vampire hunters from the Brimstone society, Vladimir (Michael Madsen) and Sebastian (Matthew Davis), who persuade her to join their cause. While the skilled warriors Vladimir and Sebastian train her to face the forces of Kagan, she's also looking for three powerful talismans to defeat Kagan...
Note: - Another film in Boll's string of video-game-to-movie adaptations, loosely based on the popular Majesco videogames about a half-human/half-vampire heroine who slices and dices Nazis during World War II.
- According to director Uwe Boll (at the Stockholm International Film Festival) the half-naked prostitutes participating in a scene with Leonid (Meat Loaf) are actually real Romanian prostitutes, because "it was cheaper to hire real prostitutes than actresses" (Boll paid them 150 euros each).
- The gory effects were partly handled by Olaf Ittenbach (Legion Of The Dead 2001).
- The aspect ratio was changed from 2,35:1 to 1,78:1 for the video/DVD release.
